Global iron ore export in 2008 up by 7%
Among them, Australia exported 308.9 million tonne ranking the largest iron ore exporter in the world. While Brazil dropped to the second largest exporter with 281.7 million tons of export up by 5% YoY. The ranking position of India remains unchanged with the total export reached 100.7 million tonne up by 11% YoY
In 2008, the total iron ore exports of Brazil, Australia and India reached 691.3 million tonne taking 77% of the total iron ore exports, up by 2% YoY from the previous year.
