AMG shortlisted for international trade award

CCTV specialist AMG Systems has been shortlisted in a prestigious regional business awards scheme.

The company is in the international trade category for Business Weekly’s East of England Business Awards 2008.

Companies of all sizes and from all sectors have been whittled down to a shortlist of 34.

Tony Quested, CEO of Business Weekly, said the shortlist was considered to be "the strongest showing in the Awards' 19 year history".

The East of England Business Awards are said to be the longest running B2B awards in the UK and are “the most rigorously judged,” said Quested.

AMG Systems provides transmission equipment designed for CCTV surveillance operations. Founded in 1990 by Dr Alan Hayes, the company has broken into foreign markets.

The New Guardian-Lite series has more than doubled export and tripled UK sales. It was selected for the National Roads Telecommunications Services in the UK, a number of applications in India, the O2 in London as well as a series of projects in the Middle East, including the Museum of Islamic Art.

Last year the company launched Vision 1000 for unshielded twisted pair and Skywave for digital and analogue wireless transmission as well as establishing an office for the Middle East based in Oman and setting up local support for the Indian Market.

Said Hayes: “We are incredibly proud to have been shortlisted for this prestigious award”.

Awards will be presented at a dinner on March 19 at Queen's College, Cambridge.
